Stumbled across cache & did better than a lot of cachers

Postby GEO.JOE » Tue Jan 19, 2010 10:35 pm

I just got an Email and cache log for my What is this cache:

"January 17 by egearcrew (1 found)
N 36° 41.222 W 087° 57.797
found your cach in LBL, by mistake, left all items, added 1 small silver light, 36 degrees 41' 13"n 87 degrees 57' 48"w
by my Jeep Rubicon's GPS in front of the hay bailer
our family knew NOTHING about this activity but logged our info in the
note pad and took pics to use if needed, placed back into hiding spot

not sure of this activity/game what's acceptable or not
let me know if it's cool?

egearcrew.........see our signature in the note pad!"

I does my heart good to know there are folks out there that find something strange in the woods, investigate it, read the enclosed information sheet and they participate in the activity, even though they have never heard of the game. Hopefully we have the addition of some great folks to the game.

That's a wonderful experience! It is great to know that there are others out there who respect what isn't theirs.

Ducky and I found a cache over Christmas break. Down on South Padre Island we were walking along the beach and I looked around. "That looks like a great spot for a cache... I'd put one there if I lived around here." Lo and behold, there was one! We signed the log (micro) and headed on our way. Later I had to find the cache on the geocaching maps... that was harder than finding it in real life! :D

I certainly hope that we see egearcrew around!
the Hubert and Ducky duo!

That is way KOOL!! We have a Multi cache hid at a cemetery in the woods that was found by a friend/fellow cachers hunting friend while hunting & I believe he is now a cacher his self? He wrote a small message in the log book. We thought it was kool then too. :-)

It's nice to see people who don't take or destroy a cache & leave it as is & let you know they found it or you go check on your cache & take the time to read the logs & spot that a muggle found it & took the time to write down their find.
